Customer’s problem

Prior to installation of this machine the assembly needed to be done manually. This was both expensive and labor intensive, additionally there was a shortage of workers who could do this task.

Koga’s solution

The parts used for assembly are loaded from the parts feeder, assembled, and finally crimped with a hydraulic press all automatically. The automation of these operations has reduced the impact of personnel shortage costs and allowed the company to increase production.

Customer’s problem

Supplying the presses with blanks was difficult due to the workpieces awkward shape. Their shape made them difficult to transport and bulky to store. Blank storage took up a significant portion of the customers factory floor space.

Koga’s solution

The machine we built allows the workpieces to be processed, then automatically transported to the next press for uninterrupted processing. Specialized racks allow for large volumes of workpieces to be stored and transported easily. By employing a vacuum conveyor, work pieces are easily transported between machines without falling off. Different workpieces could be accommodated with interchangeable jigs.

Customer’s problem

Several presses were used to produce one part．In addition to being inefficient and costly, the multiple machines required a lot of space in the factory.

Koga’s solution

Electronic press stamping control enables multiple processes to be performed with one machine, saving on both production cost and floor space. The new machine is flexible and able to accommodate various dimensions of raw coiled material.

Customer’s problem

Previously worker were manually loading short pieces of material into a press and repositioning the material for each press stroke. This created a large amount of waste and was slow.

Koga’s solution

By creating a machine that moves the blank material in the X and Y axis multiple blanks can now be economically punched from the same material. Our XY control machine has greatly improving the production pace and total yield .

Steel Tool Box Hinge Crimper and Discharge Machine

Customer’s problem

During the production of pressed steel tool boxes two workers set parts into a press by hand then pressed a button to activate the press which joined the two parts. After the two component were joined together by the machine the workers had to remove the box, close it’s lid, and place it on a discharge conveyor.

Koga’s solution

Workers now load the box bottoms and lids into a rotating index table. The machine automatically positions the work under the press which joins the products together. A multi axis robot removes the product from the machine and places it on a discharge conveyor where the lid is automatically closed by the machine. Our machine removed the need for workers to put themselves in danger by reaching underneath the press and increased the production speed of this product.
