Customer’s problem

The customers production line required a separate press for each step. Floor space was at a premium due to the large number of machines. Workers needed to move the product between the various machines.

Koga’s solution

We designed a 3 axis robotic product transfer device to move the customer’s products between molds within one large press. We also created a specialized supply feeder to keep the product flowing into the machine we built. The amount of machinery needed on the factory floor and the labor burden is greatly reduced.

Workers had to manually transport workpiece blanks from one machine to the next, however there was trouble finding enough staff to complete this

Koga’s solution

By using a multi axis robot to move the workpiece blanks from a specially made magazine into the press, then onto the next process, efficient unmanned production was made possible.

Customer’s problem

The customer had a dedicated supply line for their existing press, but wanted a similar device for a new press they were having installed. Unfortunately the supply device they had previously purchased was no longer in production.

Koga’s solution

We created a new feed device for the customer using their existing machinery as a reference. The new machine included value added features that the customer requested, such as increased blank workpiece capacity to 1000 pieces. The feed device unstacks the sheet metal workpieces using a vacuum gripper. Then by using a set of gripping claws the sheet metal is fed into the press in time with the punching action of the press.
